What is a Domain Name?

All websites that we visit are hosted on big computers called servers. Our computers can access these severs using an IP address which may look something like 54.154.42.22.

This isn't very memorable for us non-computers, so that is where a domain name comes in. A domain name converts the IP in to words so that they are easier to remember.

Domains names are like home addresses. This is where your customers can find you.

What are extensions?

Extensions are the suffixes (or a TLD, Top-Level Domain) you see at the end of your domain names. For example ".co.uk" and ".com" are to name but a few.

There are many TLDs to chose from. So choose wisely, remember, this is your online shop address.

How can I search for my new Domain?

Just type in your shop name or something relevant to your brand in the search bar above. Two lists will appear showing you the available domain names that you can buy.

Simply click on one you like and this will take you straight to our sign up page where you can register with us and buy your chosen domain.

Is there anything to consider whe choosing a domain?

- If your domain name is memeorable, it is more likely to stick in the minds of your customers.

- Make sure to try and include your shop name or any services you may offer.

- Select a suitable extension. If you are from America, ".com" would be perfect.

- no special symbols/characters (i.e. £ $ % & !)

Can I buy multiple domains?

Yes, yes and yes.

Infact, we highly recommend it. Buy as many different extensions as you can. This will protect you from any of your competitors aquiring them and selling in your name.

Do I need a to find a host for my domain?
