Honest answers

Frequently asked questions.

  • How do I connect PayPal to my Freewebstore?

Go to Orders > Payment Gateways > PayPal in your control panel. Sign in to your PayPal business account, authorise the connection, and you’re ready to accept PayPal payments. Takes about two minutes.

  • What’s the difference between PayPal Wallet and Advanced Card Payments?

PayPal Wallet lets customers pay via their PayPal account. Advanced Card Payments accepts cards without a PayPal account (like Stripe). Eligibility for Advanced Card is decided by PayPal per-account; if declined, you can re-check after 90 days.

  • Can I use PayPal and Stripe together?

Yes. PayPal Wallet works alongside Stripe. If you want Stripe to handle cards, disable PayPal Advanced Card Payments — otherwise PayPal takes precedence for card transactions.

  • What fees does PayPal charge?

PayPal's fees are set by PayPal directly — they vary by country and transaction type. Check PayPal's pricing for current rates. Freewebstore adds a small platform fee on top (2.5% on Community, 0.5% on paid plans).

  • Is PayPal available on the free Community plan?

Yes. PayPal is available on every plan, including the free Community plan.
