## Developers & AI agents
The Freewebstore Store API is available on **every plan** (Community included) with per-tier daily rate limits: Community 5,000 req/day, StartUp 25,000, Pro 100,000, Ridge 250,000. Some endpoints that mirror paid control-panel features (e.g. discount-code creation, advanced analytics) require the corresponding plan and return HTTP 403 `upgrade_required` otherwise.

- [Hosted MCP server](https://api.freewebstore.com/mcp): use the Store API as tools from an AI assistant — no local install. **ChatGPT**: Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server, URL `https://api.freewebstore.com/mcp`, authentication OAuth; the merchant signs in to the control panel and approves. **Claude**: add a custom connector with the same URL, no sign-in, and a header `x-api-key: <store API key>`. Other MCP clients can use either: OAuth discovery starts at `https://api.freewebstore.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp`.
- Get an API key: in the control panel open the **Store API** page and click **Request an API Key**, or use OAuth 2.0 (authorization code + PKCE, dynamic client registration; metadata at `https://api.freewebstore.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server`). An app connected through OAuth currently gets full access to the store, whatever scopes it requests; the merchant can disconnect it from Connected Apps on the Store API page.
